Transfer Deal

Milutin Osmajic, the 27-year-old Montenegro striker, is set to join Serie A side Genoa after Preston North End agreed to a €3.5 million transfer fee, plus potential bonuses.

Background

Genoa, struggling to find firepower in the pre-season, recently sold Jeff Ekhator to Juventus. In search of a new goal-scorer, the club evaluated several options, including former Inter striker Mehdi Taremi and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, before turning to Osmajic.

Osmajic’s Profile

Osmajic scored nine goals in 36 appearances for Montenegro and netted eight goals in 28 Championship matches last season. He joined Preston from Spanish side Cadiz in the summer of 2023 for €2.5 million, with his contract set to expire at the end of the current season.

Negotiations

According to Sport Mediaset, Genoa is in advanced talks with Preston to secure Osmajic’s services. If the deal is completed, the striker will provide the attacking boost Genoa needs for the upcoming Serie A campaign.

Next Steps

The transfer will be finalized once all parties agree on the terms. Osmajic is expected to arrive in Genoa before the start of the Serie A season.
