Preston North End striker Milutin Osmajic is set to join Genoa in a €3.5m deal, according to Sport Mediaset. The Montenegro international, who turned 27 last month, has been in advanced negotiations with the Italian club.

What's behind the move?

Genoa's lack of firepower upfront has been a major concern, especially after selling Jeff Ekhator to Juventus. The Grifone had considered alternatives, including Brighton's Evan Ferguson and ex-Inter striker Mehdi Taremi.

How will this affect Preston?

Osmajic's departure would leave a void in Preston's attack, as he scored eight goals in 28 Championship games last season. The club, currently 35 points behind leaders Coventry, will need to find a suitable replacement to boost their chances of moving up the table. As of the final 2025 table, Preston stood 14th in the Championship with 60 points from 46 games, and a recent form of LWLLW.

What's next for Preston?

Preston's next fixture is against Wolves at home on 2026-08-22, and they will be looking to bounce back from their last two losses. With 55 goals scored and 62 conceded, the team needs to work on their defense to improve their -7 goal difference.
