Preston eye Tom Cannon and Cameron Archer signings after Milutin Osmajic transfer twist
Preston North End is considering signing Tom Cannon and Cameron Archer after Milutin Osmajic's potential transfer to Genoa. The Lancashire-based club is looking to strengthen its attack.
What happened?
Preston striker Milutin Osmajic is attracting interest from Italian side Genoa, with just two weeks to go until the transfer window slams shut. According to Alan Nixon's Patreon, Osmajic, 27, has caught the eye of Serie A outfit Genoa, with Preston seemingly eyeing moves for Cannon and Archer in case of his exit.
Why it matters for Preston
Osmajic's departure would leave a huge gap in Heckingbottom's attack, especially with each of Lewis Dobbin, Daniel Jebbison, and Michael Smith having left the club over the summer. Cannon and Archer would be excellent additions for the Lancashire-based outfit, who have added both Jusef Erabi and Delano Burgzorg to Preston's attacking ranks in recent weeks.
What comes next?
Preston's interest in Cannon and Archer should come as little surprise to anyone, with the pair having both enjoyed brief but excellent loan spells at Deepdale previously. Cannon has found life tricky since his £10 million switch to Sheffield United 18 months ago, but has previously shown he can excel at Championship level in spells with Preston and Stoke.
