Osmajic's Transfer to Genoa
Preston North End boss Paul Heckingbottom confirmed that a deal has been agreed for midfielder Milutin Osmajic to join Serie A side Genoa. "Yes, I think that's been agreed today," Heckingbottom told the Lancashire Post after Preston’s 3-1 defeat to Wolves. The move will see Osmajic, nicknamed "Milly", depart the club as the transfer window nears its close.
Preston's Transfer Window Challenges
Heckingbottom admitted the club still has significant work to do in the market after missing out on two recent targets. "The business we've done so far has been really good in terms of players we've brought in to replace, players who have gone out, but we've lost a lot of players," he said. "We’ve still got a lot to replace and now Milly is another one we've got to replace."
Heckingbottom also mentioned two fees agreed for wide players that the club wasn’t able to secure. "We've had two fees agreed for wide players that we weren't able to get through the door," he added. "So, we’re still working, working hard, but we’ve got 10 days, two weeks left to try and, well, we will be doing business, but try to finish the window in as strong a possible position."
Next Steps for the Club
With Osmajic’s departure, Preston will need to find a replacement before the window closes. The club is still actively searching for options and will aim to finish the transfer period in a strong position. Heckingbottom said the club will try to finish the window in as strong a position as possible.
