Preston North End will play their Carabao Cup tie against Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park on Saturday, August 8. The decision was made due to pitch improvement work currently taking place at Deepdale, the club's home stadium. The new hybrid pitch at Deepdale will be complete in time for the club's first home league game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, August 22. The pitch improvement work is a significant investment, with a £1.5m-plus investment being made. The arrangement grants Goodison Park another evening of senior men's football before a planned community redevelopment phase gets underway. Preston North End are currently 14th in the Championship, with 60 points from 46 games, and are 35 points behind leaders Coventry. The club has scored 55 goals this season, conceding 62. Their next fixture is against Birmingham at home on February 16, 2027. The Carabao Cup tie will be played at 3pm on Saturday, August 8, at Goodison Park, the home of Everton Women, formerly the home of the Toffees men's first team up until their move ahead of the 25/26 season.
