Preston Football Club is in mourning following the passing of William Randall Preston, a long-time supporter and respected member of the community. Preston, 82, passed away on May 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and passion for the club. Born on January 1, 1944, in Beaumont, Texas, Preston spent most of his years growing up in Victoria, Texas. He was a wonderful childhood, which included running through the woods, playing in the rivers, catching snakes, and trying to scalp his brothers. In college, Preston played football in Texas, then moved to Utah with hopes of playing for the University of Utah. During that time, he met Pauline and adopted her two-year-old daughter, Stephanie. Preston and Pauline married on October 27, 1967, and had three more children together: Randy, John, and Michael. On April 3, 2014, Preston and Pauline were sealed in the temple. Preston found his calling in iron work as a welder and worked on many projects across Utah, Nevada, Colorado, and California, including the ZCMI building, the Salt Palace, and the LDS Conference Center. He was a beloved figure in the community, known for his kind heart and generosity. Preston's passing is a tremendous loss for the club and the community, and he will be deeply missed.
